Basic Communication Skills - WORKSHOP II
Friday, 2nd February 2018, 3.30pm -8 pm
Saturday, 3rd February, 9 am – 3.30 pm
This course is for international Master students who have only a very limited knowledge of the German language (either you have completed WORKSHOP I on January 19th and 20th - or you have learnt
some German elsewhere), but wish to continue intensively into the German language.
The workshop is designed to get you started with the basics of communication in German.
Even when your entire study program is in English, it is essential to understand German in everyday life to communicate with other students or neighbors or the landlord etc.
Through a series of exercises and peer conversations, you will be coached to the basic skills of communication in German.
During this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Introduce yourself in German properly
- Have basic small talk and conversation in German
- Interact with people and learn to understand people who don’t speak English
- Develop communication skills in German
- Recognize and avoid cross-cultural misunderstandings
Instructor: Dr Torsten Flüh
Registration only by email to: tf-stib@ fau.de
